My first impression of Purple Hibiscus

Before I opened the book I had a feeling of a intresting story. I like the title a lot and titles like plants and similar stuff catch me. I don´t know why but I just think that it seams to be a beutiful story in some way. I didn´t look so much at the cover but it´s quite simple I think and that makes me more interested of the plot.

The first sentence in the book:
"Things started to fall apart at home when my brother, Jaja, did not go to communion and Papa flung his heavy missal across the room and broke the figurines on the étagère."

Whith this sentence I understood that the book was going to be a bit about religion and also about some kind of family problem. When the beginning is about something serious I be intrested in how it´s going to end, and that was what happened when a red this.

My first impression of the first chapter in total is good. Due to the serious start, as I wrote before, I got interested of how the story continues and therefore the book got a big hold on me. I also, exept for the plot, thinks that the book is written in a good way
